Who is The Experience // ARC for?

A wide range of photographers and creatives. If you're a wedding, portrait, lifestyle or commercial photographer looking to raise the bar and be challenged, have an open mind and are willing to learn from different perspectives, this is for you. You'll connect with a wide range of educators and we guarantee a unique experience.

If you're interested in boudoir, family photography, lifestyle, photojournalism and documentary photography, elements from these disciplines will also be represented and you'll have many takeaways from the wedding and portrait photographers present too. Join us at The Experience for these 3 days and you can also enhance your learning with our speakers via their half day or full day master classes (coming Spring 2018).

What level of photographer is ARC appealing to?

All ranges. If you're an experienced photographer, get ready to be challenged, or if you're just starting out, then we hope we can guide you on your journey and open your mind to the options available. It's really for everyone .. if you have any questions, get in touch! Our Master Classes are the best way to get hands on practical experience and each Class will have a level assigned (beginner, intermediate, advanced). Let us know if you have any questions! >>

Will I get to see every speaker’s presentation?

100%. We won’t make you choose between your favourite speakers. The Experience // ARC has been designed each year to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

How much does a ticket cost?

Regular price tickets are reduced to just $950 for 3 Days of The Experience!

This includes your 3 day Pass to 8 Keynote Presentations, Live Panel Interviews, 10 Mini Presentations, Live Karaoke Evening, Choose Your Own Adventure Afternoon and After-Party Pass to “Supernatural”. Lunch is not included.

Master Class tickets are available separately.

Does the ticket include accommodation?

Accommodation is not included. For those unfamiliar with Vancouver on a range of nearby accommodations and what to expect from the different neighbourhoods, check out our City Guide from 2017.

What is your conference code of conduct?

You can read it in full here

All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with the ARC code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody. Thank you!

It would be my first time coming to Vancouver. Should I come?

Oh YES, you’re in for a treat. We know you don’t know Vancouver, but we’re excited for you to get acquainted. We’ve left you with a lot of time on Day 2 to do just that with all the new friends you’ll be making. Think curling, brewery tours on bikes, hikes up one of our many mountains or straight up city-crawling for the best we have to offer in restaurants and bars. We're providing everyone with a local’s guide to the navigating Vancouver so that you can maximize your experience for the days that you are here. And of course, reach out to us if you have any questions!

Should I pack my party-pants?

Yes. You bring your party-pants and we’ll bring the party. We believe that ground breaking education should be met with an equally ground breaking opportunity to dance your face off.

Do I have to worry about bears?

For the explorers that want to hike around in Vancouver’s North Shore, bear sightings are extremely rare on popular paths. Signs are posted in the few areas where you need to be vigilante. A bear has never been sighted in the Downtown Eastside, so you can leave the bear mace at home when attending The Experience // ARC.


What are Master Classes?

Master Classes are a chance for more hands on learning from the speakers of The Experience // ARC Conference. Full day and half day workshops will be taking place on October 22nd 2018. Full details coming Spring/Summer 2018.

Do I have to be attending the conference to sign up for a Master Class?

Master Classes are exclusive and ONLY available to those attending The Experience // ARC. Purchase your ticket HERE.

Where is the conference happening?

The Experience // ARC is taking place at The DOUGLAS (45 Smithe St, Vancouver, BC V6B 0R3). However on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, we'll be at Fortune Sound Club (147 E Pender St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1T5) in the vibrant Downtown Eastside. Both locations are central to public transportation and a thriving food and culture scene. Download our 2017 guide to the city.

What dates should I be in Vancouver?

The Experience // ARC Conference will take place on October 22nd-25th. Arrive early on the 21st and get settled into the neighbourhood in time for registration taking place at 7PM (Venue TBC) on the 22nd. Master Classes are taking place throughout the day on the 22nd, so if you are signed up for one we suggest you settle in a night earlier on the 21st.

Will there be LIVE shoots?

Yes. During the Master Classes, select speakers will offer live shoots and we'll also create some for Day 2, our Adventure afternoon. Tickets are limited and are exclusive to those attending The Experience // ARC.

Will food be provided at the conference?

Refreshments will be provided daily - snacks, coffee and tea. Have any dietary requirements? The people behind The Experience // ARC are mostly Vegan/Vegetarian, so you can be sure there will be options available for all diets. We got your back. Lunch is not provided however there are many options at The Parq where The DOUGLAS is located.

Is there a Refund Policy in place?

Ticket purchases are non-refundable, however; we are happy to help you transfer the ticket to another person for $75.
Please inform us of any changes if you are unable to attend by emailing Your ticket + 2 pieces of ID will be needed to enter the venue.

How do I get to The Experience // ARC?

Vancouver’s Skytrain system is the quickest and most effective way to get downtown from YVR International Airport, and has two stations within a 10 minute walk from The Experience // ARC. Once settled in, The DOUGLAS is conveniently located just off of Smithe St with popular bus routes connecting all of Downtown and its surrounding neighbourhoods.

Do you offer help with the ticket fee e.g. Split Payments?

Yes. 100%. We want you to be there with us. Email us and we can work out the best plan for you. Typical plans include 50% down payment now and 50% in June 2018 >>
